The image formed by refraction is - 100.

Explanation:

Given data in the question :

When a beam of light goes over from one transparent medium to another, Crossing the screen it bends, separating the two outlets. This is called the refraction .

The  refractive indicex  are

\mu_{1}=1

\mu_{2}=1.5

\mathrm{R}=20 \mathrm{cm} ⇒ Curvature Radius

u=-25 \mathrm{cm}

$\frac{\mu_{2}}{v}-\frac{\mu_{1}}{u}=\frac{\mu_{2}-\mu_{1}}{R}

Put the values in above equation

$\frac{1.5}{v}=\frac{0.5}{20}-\frac{1}{25}

$\frac{1.5}{v}=\frac{5}{200}-\frac{1}{25}

$\frac{1.5}{v}=\frac{1}{40}-\frac{1}{25}

$\frac{1.5}{v}=0.025-00.4

$\frac{1.5}{v}=-0.015

$v=-\frac{1.5}{0.015}

v = - 100

So, the image on the side of S is 100 cm from the surface of (P).
