Many short fibres called DENDRONS arise from the cell BODY. Dendrons further divide to form DENDRITES, they receive messages from other neurons. A single, long fibre called AXON extends from the other side of the cell body. It is covered by sheath called myelin sheath. Axon is most important part of the neuron. It carries messages from cell body of one neuron to another.
