see diagrams.

The combination of human skeleton made of bones and the muscles provides the locomotion in the human body.  Locomotion is self induced motion in animals or objects or machines.

The muscles are stimulated by the brain to move by contraction and expansion. They move the bones. Also at the joints of the bones, the type of movement gives flexibility, stability and strength.  Locomotion happens in the form of human gaits.

A human gait is the bipedal (two pedal), biphasal (in two phases) forward propulsion or movement of limbs (mainly legs). This movement moves forward the center of gravity of the body, while still maintaining the balance. That is done by coordinated simultaneous movement of other limbs.

Locomotion is demonstrated clearly by the different positions or stances of skeleton of the body while the person walks or jogs.
