We know that
 log(x)  +  log(y)  =  log(xy)
Hence
we get
 \\  =  log((x - 1)(x + 4))  =  log(3x + 5)
taking antilog on both sides
(x - 1)(x + 4) = 3x + 5 \\  {x}^{2}  + 3x - 4 = 3x + 5 \\  {x}^{2}  = 4 + 5 \\ x =  \sqrt{9}  \\ x =  + 3 \\ or \\ x =  - 3
Here -3 is not defined for equation
Hence
x=3 is solution
