Answer:

log (x ² +x) to base 4 -log (x+1) to base 4 =2

㏒ ((x²+x)/(x+1)) to base 4 =2

4² = (x²+x)/(x+1)

16 = (x²+x)/(x+1)

16 (x+1) =(x²+x)

16x + 16 = x² +x

x² + x -16x -16 =0

x² -15x -16 = 0

x² -16x + x -16 =0

x(  x -16 ) +  x -16 =0

(x+1  )( x -16 ) =0

x+1 = 0      or     x -16  =0

x = -1         or     x =16 ( answer)
