Answer:

Lok Sabha is the lower place of India’s two-house Parliament, with the upper house being the Rajya Sabha. Members from the Lok Sabha are chosen by free and fair elections held across the country and they hold their seats for a period of 5 years until the point when the body is disintegrated by the President due to any issues. At present, the house has 545 seats which constitutes up to 543 elected members and 2 members from the Anglo-Indian Community chosen by the President of India. The next Lok Sabha elections are slated to be held in 2019.

Lok Sabha is known as the lower house and house of people as well. It is formed under the Article 81. The members of Lok Sabha is elected on the basis of adult suffrage which means it had direct election process.

In starting, it has the strength of 500 members but by the States Reorganization Act ,1956 the strength of Lok Sabha was increased to 520 and again 525.

According to 31st Constitutional Amedmnent Act,1974 the maximum number of seats is 552 from which 530 members were elected from different states , 20 members from Union territory and 2 members from Anglo - Indian community by President.

At present, the current strength of Lok Sabha is 545. From which ,530 members are elected from different stated ( representation based on population) , 13 members from Union Territory and 2 members from Anglo - Indian community by hon'ble president respectively.

According to Article 83, the tenure of Lok Sabha is 5 years from it's first meeting. In case of emergency it can be extended also. 1st Lok Sabha is formed in April ,1952 and 16 the Lok Sabha in May ,2014 .

According to Article 85, it can be dissolved by the president before it's time period on the advice of council of ministers.

But the Rajya Sabha is permanent house ,it cannot be dissolved before it's time period.

It is clear that the Lok Sabha is more powerful than the Rajya Sabha. Even in those matters in which the Constitution has placed both Houses on an equal footing, the Lok Sabha has more influence due to its greater numerical strength in comparison to Rajya Sabha ( upper house ).
