The elections in union territories go through the same procedures as the elections in the major states of India.
This can be understood by the representatives in the lok sabha and the members of the Parliament. There are 545 members in the lok sabha of which 530 are from the major states of India while 13 are from the union territories and the other two are presidentially elected to represent the Anglo - Indian Communities.
