Amoeba take in the food by capturing through pseudopodia . When the food is captured by pseudopodia completely it is engulfed in the bag called food vacuole . Digestion takes place when food is broken down into smaller particles by enzymes.

amoeba is a unicellular organism .so it carry all the function of its body though only one cell .the process of nutrition as follows.
amoeba engulfed the food through pseudopodia .
when the food get igested the nucleus start absorbing it .
after absorbing the nutrition the food is assimilate and the nucleus and other body part start absorbing it .
after that the waste food particle is excrete out from the body
