- Land breeze: blowing breeze from land towards the sea is called a land breeze.
- They are formed during the night when sea water and land both lose heat, specific heat capacity of land being very low as compared to that of sea water, land loses heat energy fast and cools more rapidly as compared to the sea. Sea water being at higher temperature, the air becomes lighter and rises up. Air from land being at higher pressure. So air from land starts blowing towards the sea and gives rise to a land breeze

SEA BREEZE:
Sea breeze is the air or wind that is generated from the sea and is sent towards the land. Sea breeze is a very moist air due to the water particles absorbed in it.It is very cool. It usually blows during evening & night time.
LAND BREEZE:
Land breeze is the air or wind that is generated by the land and is sent towards the sea. It is a dry type of wind and may cause irritation if come in contact with skin. It happens because it contains the dry and sandy particles of the land. It is a hot and warm air. It generally blows during morning and afternoon tim areas .
b) How do they blow in costal regions ❓
In costal areas, the land breeze is from the beach to the sea. That is the reason, why it is so hot in beach in the morning. On the other hand, the breeze from the sea to the land is the sea breeze, it is very cool. That is why, it is observed that the windows of houses in costal areas faces the sea, as the in the evening time, they can experience the cool air of the sea.
Its the main reason why, in costal areas, there is hot in day time & cold in night time.
