Jayanto is so attached to the doll which was
given by his uncle and which was said to be responded when called by the name "FRITZ". Fritz was Jayanto's childhood companion. He treated the doll no less than the human being. He told his friend Shankar that he even buried it as if a real child, it had died when a couple of stray dogs had destroyed the doll. He constantly remembers the doll and couldn't even forget it even after 31 years. When Jayanto visited Bundi again as a
grown-up man, he felt emotional for his doll Fritz which he had lost so many years ago. He was so much obsessed with Fritz that one night when something walked on his chest, he at once concluded that it was Fritz. When he discussed about this with his friend Shankar, he suggested him to dig out the place where Jayanto had buried his doll Fritz and when the place was dug out, there was a twelve-inch-long, pure white, perfect little human skeleton."
Author leaves the story in suspense and it is left to readers to decide whether was a ghost or a supernatural being or just a figment of Jayanto's childhood imagination. So, at some point the story is all raised
up and built on Fritz which was Jayanto childhood doll. So, the title is apt for the story
