Long answer questions
E. Answer in detail.
2. Distinguish between the speed and average speed of a moving object
Answers
Answer:
Speed and average speed are not the same although they are derived from the same formula, distance per unit time. The difference between speed and average speed is that speed is a one time measurement of velocity while average speed is the median measurement of different speeds which basically is used simplify the varying speed to appear like a single speed only. To illustrate this see below example:
The standard unit for speed in science is meters per second. If, for example, a person runs 30 meters in 10 seconds, his speed is 3 meters per second.
If a person is running at varying speeds, then the relationship between speed, distance and time can only be used to calculate the average speed. A distance-time graph, which shows the speed varying as the time increases, is a good way to see how the speed of an object changes. If you add all these varying speed at any given time within the distance traveled and divide it to the number of varying speed you added together, then you will get the median speed or average speed which is basically used to simplify the different speed you have recorded.
Answer:
Explanation:
SPEED
1) Distance per unit time is known as speed.
2) Speed of an object may vary.
3) Speed of an object can easily measured using speedometer.
AVERAGE SPEED
1) Final Speed - Initial Speed / Time is known as average speed.
2) Average speed of an object doesn't vary.
3) We cannot measure the average speed using speedometer.
