Explanation:

  1. Ice floats because it is less dense than water. Water has a density of 1.0 gm/cubic cm. The density of ice is 0.931 gm/cubic cm.
  2. In humid conditions where surrounding air cannot hold further water vapour, sweat evaporates slowly, if at all. As a result the body heats up. it is difficult for the sweat to evaporate and in high humidity conditions we tend to sweat more.
  3. When the balloon is kept in the sun, due to Sun's heat, the kinetic energy of gaseous particles inside the balloons also gets increased and the balloon expands. This will increase the pressure on the walls of the balloon. It continues to expand and comes to a stage when the baloon bursts.

a)ice floats on water

in the solid state (ice), intermolecular interactions lead to a highly ordered but loose structure in which each oxygen atom is surrounded by 4 hydrogen atoms; two of these hydrogen atoms are covalently bonded to the oxygen atom, and the two others (at longer distances) are hydrogen bonded to the oxygen atom’s unshared electron pairs.

this open structure of ice causes its density to be less than that of the liquid state, in which the ordered structure is partially broken down and the water molecules are (on average) closer together. When water freezes, a variety of structures are possible depending on the conditions. 9 different forms of ice are known and can be interchanged by varying external pressure and temperature

b)we sweat more on humid days

Humidity simply means the presence of water vapour in the air. It's not like that we sweat more on a humid way but due to high humidity, the air already has enough water vapour in it therefore sweat does not evaporate easily in humid weather. As a result, sweat remains on the skin and the body does not cool down efficiently, unlike during hot, dry days when sweat quickly evaporates from the skin. In both situations, drinking enough fluids is a must, as dehydration can occur very quickly.

c)a balloon kept in sunlight burst after sometime

The kinetic energy of gases increases with the increase in the temperature. When the balloon is kept in the sun, due to Sun's heat, the kinetic energy of gaseous particles inside the balloons also gets increased and the balloon expands. This will increase the pressure on the walls of the balloon. It continues to expand and comes to a stage when the balloon bursts.
