Answer:

Neuron is basic functional unit of central nervous system. Neurons can be divided into - unipolar, bipolar, multipolar, pseudounipolar

Neurons are specialized cells of the nervous system that transmit signals throughout the body. You may already know that neurons can do many different things from sensing external and internal stimuli, to processing information and also directing muscle actions.

Essentially, nerve cells, also known as a neurons, are the active component of the nervous system

Structure and function of neuron - Structure of neuron shows

Cell body - It is biochemical machine and sends signal

Axon - Axon transmits messages.

Dendrites - Dendrites recieve messages.

Each mammalian neuron consists of a cell body, dendrites, and an axon. The cell body contains the nucleus and cytoplasm. The axon extends from the cell body and often gives rise to many smaller branches before ending at nerve terminals. Dendrites extend from the neuron cell body and receive messages from other neurons

Hope this helps!

Wishing you luck!
