long back cheese was not considered as vegetarian food why?

bcoz long long back its was obtained by penicillin (yeast)...named as 1. p. camberti
2. p rouquerti
that's why it's was not considered as vegetarian

Cheese is attained from animal due to which long back it was not considered as a vegetarian food. However, at present time, cheese is considered as the vegetarian food, as one does not have to kill any animal for cheese.  

Cheese can be prepared from the milk of buffalo and cow, and this food habit is also known as lacto-vegetarianism. Though still, some of the vegans do not consume cheese as it comes from animals.
