Dear diary,
Today, I went with my family to the zoo for a birthday treat for my brother!
Some of his friends were there with us too. We had so much fun.
First, we had to drive to the zoo. It was a long way so we all read some books
about animals. I love all types of animals but my favourite animal is the
monkey!
At the zoo, we first had to buy our tickets. The queue was shorter than we
thought it would be. Everyone was excited to get inside to see the animals.
Next, we went straight to the giraffes. They were so beautiful and were much
taller than in the pictures. My brother read the sign by their field. It said that
giraffes can grow up to six metres! We watched them push a large ball with their
noses. It looked like they were playing football!
Then, we ate our tasty lunch next to the tigers’ den. We were very full so we sat
on a picnic blanket and we watched the tigers chase each other. They were very
fast! It was unclear which one was the male and which one was the female
because they looked the same!
After that, my brother asked to visit the penguins. We were amazed to see some
of the penguins wearing wetsuits to stop the sun from hurting them.
Soon, it was time to go back home. Where had the time gone? Why had the day
passed so quickly?
What a wonderful day we had! I hope that we can go to the zoo again soon.
