a) The Lok Sabha at present consists of 545 members. Of these, 530 members are directly elected from the States and 13 from Union Territories, while two are nominated by the President to represent the Anglo-Indian community.Fourteen Lok Sabhas have been constituted so far.

b) The Rajya Sabha should consist of not more than 250 members - 238 members representing the States and Union Territories, and 12 members nominated by the President.The senior most minister, who is a member of Rajya Sabha, is appointed by the Prime Minister as Leader of the House.

c) Qurʾān, (Arabic: “Recitation”) also spelled Quran and Koran, the sacred scripture of Islam. According to conventional Islamic belief, the Qurʾān was revealed by the angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad in the West Arabian towns Mecca and Medina beginning in 610 and ending with Muhammad's death in 632 ce.

b) The four Administrative or Executive Powers of the Union Parliament are: Monetary Controls: The Parliament can move a cut motion when the Union Budget is under consideration. The Parliamentary Committee ensures that the public money is spent in accordance with Parliament's decision.

c) Three Financial Powers of the Union Parliament are: (i) It passes the Union Budget. (ii) It can make supplementary grants if the amount authorised is insufficient. (iii) If the Budget is not Passed before April 1, then there would be no money for the executive to spend.

a) The exclusive powers of the Lok Sabha are as follows:

  • Motions of No-Confidence against the government can only be introduced and passed in the Lok Sabha.
  • Money bills can only be introduced in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha cannot reject or amend it.

b) Members of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha enjoy special powers and responsibilities with regard to:

  • Making laws on any subject in the State List;
  • Making laws to create services at national level.

c) Parliament keeps check on the executive and the executive keeps check on the legislatures. Union Parliament also acts as a Judicial structure in a lot of matters. Legislatures have Parliamentary Privileges. If these privileges are breached, then Union Parliament also has punitive powers to punish.

a) Powers. The Lok Sabha has certain powers that make it more powerful than the Rajya Sabha. Motions of no confidence against the government can be introduced and passed in the Lok Sabha. If passed by a majority vote, the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers resign collectively.

b) Three Legislative Powers of the Union Parliament are: (i) It has exclusive powers to make laws with respect to matters mentioned in the Union List and also in the Concurrent List. (ii) The Parliament can Legislate on subjects included in the State List during emergency.

c) The speaker's official role is to moderate debate, make rulings on procedure, announce the results of votes, and the like. The speaker decides who may speak and has the powers to discipline members who break the procedures of the chamber or house.
