Explanation:
Good morning! Respected Principal, teachers and my dear companions, I stand before you to speak on the topic- Sardar Patel.
Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel was popularly known as Sardar Patel. He was one of the freedom fighters of our country. He was born on 31 October 1875 in Nadiad, Gujarat and took his last breath on 15 December 1950 in Mumbai.
During his early years in politics, he followed the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi. He played a vital role in the Quit India movement and India’s struggle for independence. He was a leader of the Indian national congress and one of the founding fathers of independent India.
He was also given the title of the iron man of India. As he did a remarkable job in the integration of the country by unifying 562 princely states in the newly independent country, made him earn this title of iron man. During that time, it was a really hard task to collect scattered pieces of India.
Soon after the independence of India, he became the first home minister and deputy prime minister of India. He said in one of his sessions, “no distinctions of caste and creed should hamper us. All are the sons and daughters of India. We should all love our country and build our destiny on mutual love and help”.
He always wanted to remove distinctions of rich and poor, caste and creed, high and low from our country, thus he worked really hard for it. He was a true citizen of the country. To honour him, his birth anniversary is celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas every year.
Sardar Patel, as he came to be known as, will always be remembered, for he was truly a great leader and true person who was in real sense devoted towards his duties.
Jai Hind!
