Also germans thought the Treaty of Versailles was a diktat imposed on them and they felt insulted and got angry.
Immediate cause: German army entered Poland on September 1, 1939. Hitler, invaded Poland as a punishment for refusing to handover the port of Danzig to germany. Hitler thought that the takeover of Poland would be a small military operation. But Poland had a defence pact with Britain. So, Britain joined the polish side and France joined them a day later
