the ganga is the longest river, if we consider the total distance covered by thr river within india. two major rivers of indian subcontinent - brahmaputra and indus are longer than ganga, but the distances covered are not within india.and the distances these two river cover within india is shorter than ganga.


the distance of brahmaputra:

the brahmaputra , called the tsang po in tibet, though having a total length of 2900 km , flows only 916 km in india. therefore it is shorter than ganga (2525 km)


but according to new report now indus is longest..... river....having length(3180 km)
