    This is due to the Alpha decay. Alpha particle is composed of two protons and neutrons it is actually a Helium nucleus configuration without electrons. The radioactive elements that release "Alpha particles" when they undergo radioactive decay; such decay is known as "Alpha decay".

   The Alpha particle is non harmful to human body when radiated outside human body as Alpha particles cannot penetrate the human skin the problem arises only if the the "particles have somehow entered" our system.
