In figure 4.13, a saucepan partly filled with water is shown to be seated on a wire mesh and tripod stand.

The saucepan is made of conductive material say of aluminium being heated by the flames of a Bunsen burner.

Water in the Sause pan is under boiling where the process of heat transfer is by convection.

Heat is transferred from body of the pan to the water by conduction.

Heat is being transmitted from burner flame to the pan is by radiation.
