COMPLETE QUESTION
Look at the system of linear equations. What is the x–coordinate of the solution to the system of equations?
2x - 4y = - 8
-3x + 5y = 9
EVALUATION
Here the given system of equations are
( 5 × Equation 1 ) + ( 4 × Equation 2 ) gives
10x - 12x = - 40 + 36
From Equation 1 we get
( 2 × 2 ) - 4y = - 8
Hence x = 2 , y = 3
Hence x–coordinate of the solution to the system of equations = 2
