According to the map given,

India occupies a strategic and a central location in the map. It is present in the continent of Asia with a latitude around 8° to 37° and longitude around 68° to 97°. It is therefore in the North - Eastern Hemisphere.

India also is central to most of the Countries in the South Asia. Hence India occupies a higher trade market in overseas trade. Since India has a protruding part in the ocean present near India, the name of the ocean is thereby named as the Indian Ocean.

Note :- India is also the 7th largest country in the world. Hence it has a high population level.

Hope my answer helped !
