first way
4(x-2)=40-2x
4(x-2)=2(20-x). (taking 2 as common)
2(x-2)=20-x. (dividing by 2)
2x-4=20-x
2x+x=20+4
3x=24
on solving we get::. x=8. (x=24/3)

second way
simply opening the bracket and then solving
4(x-2)=40-2x
4x-8=40-2x
4x+2x=40+8
6x=48
x=48/6
x=8

hence the value of x is 8 .
hope this will help you!!! and plz mark as brainliest
