Though most natural disasters can be predicted. The effects they have on the community is negative and extremely harmful for it's growth and development.

Explanation:

  • Natural disasters cause destruction of property, homes, schools, offices, loss of financial, economical and social resources, personal injury, illness and death.
  • The loss of resources, security and access to shelter can lead to massive population migrating to other countries. This is very detrimental to the growth of the country's economy.
  • Many people develop severe post-traumatic stress disorders PTSD or battle with states of depression.
  • The California wildfires of 2009 and Myanmar cyclones of 2008 are examples of how areas of land that have vast and diverse whole ecosystems can be dramatically damaged from a single disaster. This has resulted in change of soil type, change in crops grown and weather patterns.
  • Some tsunamis in the recent times have also completely swamped certain island nations thus wiping out complete populations and habitats.
