we can use here theorem of geometric mean

so thus then

we get

altitude²=product of two parts

=20×5

=100

taking square roots on both sides we get

altitude=10 cm

thus then length of altitude is 10.cm

here negative value for altitude is also possible after taking square roots but as dimensions length are never negative

that value would be absurd
