Meaning: This refers to something or someone moving from one place to another. Or when sometimes its also used as a signal for everything being okay.

Uses:

-All systems are go, lets leave.

-I have to go, for I am late.

-I had a go at Ali's bike.

-You should have a go at that meeting.

-"Go ahead, I don't have any objections"

-"Lets go now, your getting late for school", mother yelled.

 

2- Get

Meaning: When a person arrives to receive something. Trying to obtain something.

Uses:

-Go and get them will all your might.

-You need to get a hang of yourself.

-"Lets get going, we're getting late."

-I'll get old by the time you reach here.

-We must get a head start at this work for the upcoming week.

-"Do you get the point?"

3-catch

Meaning: To hold something. To get a hold of something/to capture it.

Uses:

-Catch me if you can

-I am getting late and I need to catch the bus.

-The fielder took an amazing catch that led to his team's victory.

-I fear I might catch a cold.

4-pass

Meaning: To make something move in a specific direction

Uses:

-This artifact will pass onto our future generations

-I had full faith that I would pass this class.

-I could actually pass off as an 18 year old, in this outfit.

5-put

Meaning: To place something somewhere, in a specific place.

Uses:

-I cannot put off work any longer.

-The thief was put in his rightful place.

-You must put an end to this chaos.

-She tried to put me at ease, but I was far too shaken.

-You need to put the reins on that boy, he is getting far out of hand.
