Let the required time be ( x years )

According to the question,

=> Age of louis after x years = 2× age of her daughter after x years

=> 26 + x = 2( 4 + x )

=> 26 + x = 8 + 2x

=> 26 - 8 = 2x - x

=> 18 = x

Hence, After 18 years she will be double of her daughter's age.

Answer:

After 18 years, the age of Louis will be double the age of her daughter.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

The age of Louis = 26years

The age of her daughter = 4 years

To find,

After how many years the age of Louis will be double the age of her daughter

Solution

Let us take that after 'x' years the age of Louis is double the age of her daughter

After 'x' years, the age of Louis = 26+x years

After 'x' years, age of her daughter = 4 +x years

Since after 'x' years age of Louis will be double the age of her daughter, we have

26+x = 2(4+x)

26+x = 8+2x

2x-x = 26 -8 = 18

x = 18

∴ After 18 years, the age of Louis will be double the age of her daughter.
