Mrs. Donovan loved animals and had a treasure of knowledge about animal diseases. She had a number of medicines for every ailment and people of Dorroby called her to attend to their animals. Not a medical professional, Mrs. Donovan surpassed the trained doctors.

Mrs. Donovan had a dog – Rex. It was so dear to her that people could always spot the dog with Mrs. Donovan. Once the poor dog was run over by a passing car. Though Dr. Herriot did all that he could, the dog died and Mrs. Donovan sank in gloom. Slowly she tried to forget the wonderful memories with Rex and resumed her service for other animals.

Mrs Donovan’s dog loved her very much. Because she was a good woman. And Mrs Donovan also loves her dog very much. She treat her very well as give her dog food in time. So that’s why they were happy with each other.
