Answer:

Let A has Rs a

B has Rs b

C has Rs c

Now, According to question,

b−40=

2

c

2b−80=c (I)

Also, a+40=b=c−40 (II)

thus, from I and II,

2b−80=b+40

b=120

Hence, a=b−40=120−40=80

and, c=2b−80=2×120−80=160

Total amount = a+b+c=80+120+160=360

Answer:

The total amount of money that Lovleen, Gita and Ashish have among themselves is ₹360.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's assume that Lovleen has ₹x, Gita has ₹y and Ashish has ₹z.

According to the problem:

If Gita gives ₹40 to Lovleen, Geeta will have ₹(y - 40) = ₹\frac{z}{2} . . . . . . . . . .  (i)

And, If Ashish gives ₹40 to Lovleen, Lovleen will have ₹(x + 40),

Ashish will have ₹(z - 40) and Gita will still have ₹y:

x + 40 = y = z - 40 = 2y - 80 - 40  [using equation (i)]

∴ y = 2y - 120

∴ y = 120

x = y - 40 = 80

z = 2y - 80 = 240 - 80 = 160

∴ x + y + z = 80 + 120 + 160 = 360
