1. A transit occurs when, as viewed from Earth or another point in space, a relatively small body passes... For Mercury these times occur around May 8 and November 10. November transits occur at intervals of 7, 13, or 33 years, whereas May transits occur only at the latter two intervals.

2.But that doesn't happen, and the reason is that the moon's orbit around Earth is inclined to Earth's orbit around the sun by about 5 degrees. Twice a month the moon intersects the ecliptic – Earth's orbital plane – at points called nodes.

3. 180 degree

On each new moon day, the lines joining the earth and the sun and the moon make an angle of 0 degree whereas on each full moon day, this angle is of 180 degree.

4. We know that the solar eclipse in perigee condition is of two types. They were total solar eclipse and partial solar eclipse. Total Solar Eclipse occurs when the New moon comes between the Sun and Earth. During a total solar eclipse the moon casts its shadow on Earth.
