Answer:

1/20

Step-by-step explanation:

As one pizza was divided into three equal parts so, each friend got 1/3 part of pizza ..

His friend teddy also got the same part of the pizza ...

Now teddy eat 5/8 of the pizza in lunch and further 2/5 of the pizza in dinner ..

He eat in lunch = 5/8 of 1/3 = 5/8 * 1/3 = 5/24 part .

so, remaining part = 1/3 - 5/24 =(8-5)/24 = 3/24 = 1/8 part ...

Now he ate 2/5 part in dinner ..

so, in dinner he eat = 2/5 of 1/8 = 2/5 * 1/8 = 1/20 part ..

so, teddy eat fraction of original part for dinner is =1/20

Answer:

1/12

Step-by-step explanation:

1/3 (each persons portion) OF 5/8 (which is how much teddy ate from that amount) 1/3 x 5/8= 5/24... he then ate 2/5 OF 5/24 which would give us 10/120 (further simplified to give) 1/12 which is how much he ate for dinner.

(I checked the answer sheet of my book too it shud be correct. {my book had the same question}
