Given:The length of train=100m

Length of bridge=400m

Total distance travelled by the train through the bridge=(length of bridge)+(length of train)=400+100=500

[This is because after the front of the train passes through the bridge... the backside of the train is still traversing through the bridge and that extra 100m also needs to be included while claculating the total traversed distance and time)

speed of train=(Total distance traversed)÷(total time taken)=500/30=16.667m/s.

Hope it helps...

length of train = 100m

length of bridge = 400m

distance travelled = (100 + 400)m = 500m

time taken = 30 sec.

speed of train = 500m /30 sec. = 16.66667 m/sec.
