Answer:
First convert mixed fractions to proper fractions.
Walking speed 3 4/5 = 19/5 km per hour
Time = 2 1/2 hours = 5/2 hrs.
We know the speed formula, Speed = Distance/Time
Or Distance = Speed × Time
Distance = 19/5 km/hour × 5/2 hours
Distance = 95/10 kilometer
Distance = 9.5 kilometer
Answer : Nitin will cover 9.5 kilometer in 2 1/2 hours
2nd method
By conversion of fractions into decimals, then using the above formula
Walking speed 3 4/5 = 19/5 = 3. 8 kilometer per hour =
Time = 2 1/2 hours = 5/2 = 2.5 hrs.
Distance = Walking speed × Time
Distance = 3.8 km per hour × 2.5 hours
Distance = 9.5 kilometers
Answer : Nitin will cover 9.5 kilometers in 2 1/2 hours
3rd method
Distance covered in 1 hr = 19/5 km
Distance to be covered in 5/2 hrs. = 19/5 × 5/2
Distance to be covered = 95/10
Distance to be covered = 9.5 kilometers
Answer : Nitin will cover 9.5 kilometers in 2 1/2 hours

Nitin can walk 3 4/5 km in one hour. How much distance will he cover in 2 1/2 hours?
By Unitary Method,
Distance covered in 1 hr = 3 4/5 km = 19/5 km
Distance covered in 2 1/2 hrs. or 5/2 hrs. = (19/5) * (5/2)
= 19/2 km or 9.5 km
2. By using formula, Speed = Distance/Time
Nitin covers 3 4/5 km (19/5 km) in 1 hr, therefore, his speed is 19/5 km/hr
We are given, Time = 2 1/2 hr. =5/2 hrs.
We know, Speed = Distance/Time
So, 19/5 = Distance / (5/2)
Distance = (19/5) * (5/2)
Distance = 9.5 km
I know that using the unitary method in this case seems a lot more simpler, But as a physics enthusiast, I strongly recommend using the physics equations for solving these kind of problems.
Hopefully, it helps!

Nilavan can walk 4 1/2 km in a hour. How much distance will he cover in 3 1/2 hours
We know Speed = distance/time
Distance = speed × time
Nilavan speed = 4 1/2 km per hour = 9/2 km per hour
Time = 3 1/2 hours = 7/2 hours
Distance = to find out
Distance = 9/2 km per hour × 7/2 hour
Distance = 63/4 km or 15 3/4 km.
Distance = 15.75 km
Answer: Nilavan will cover the distance of 15 3/4 km or 15.75 km in 3 1/2 hours

A man walks 8 km in 75 minutes. How far does he walk in 1 hour?
With questions like this where you have two similar types of quantities with one quantity being related to another quantity it's typically very easy to set this up as a ratio where we will say d (distance) is the missing variable. So it would look something like this
(8/75) = (d/60) cross multiply
480 = 75*d then divide both sides by 75
d = 6.4 km or 6400 m
