Luke investigated the heating of water. He predicted that the rise in
temperature would depend on the volume of water. . Luke stirred the water during the experiment. How did this make his results more reliable?

Due to uniform heating of water which leads to good observations .

Explanation :

  • When Luke stirs water , the particles from bottom to top and vice - versa and hence the heat is transferred  to all the water molecules .
  • The mode of transfer of heat here is the convection .
  • When he stirs water then the water molecules from the top ( away from flame ) travel to the bottom ( towards the flame ) and hence water gets heated uniformly leading to a good observation .
