The no. students did not participate in the orientation​

Solution:

The total no. of students in the elementary school = 1485

The percentage of students participating in the school orientation = 80%

∴ The no. of students participating in the school orientation is,

= $\frac{80}{100} \times 1485$

= $1188$

Now,

The number of students not participating in the school orientation is,

= [Total students] - [Students who participates in the orientation]

= 1485 - 1188

= 297

Thus, 297 students did not participate in the orientation.
