let the digit be x
let the other digit be y

x-y=5---(i)
the no. is (10x+y)
if we interchange the digits...
the new no. is (10y+x)
sum of the new no. and old no.= 99
10x+y+10y+x=99
11x+11y=99
x+y=9----(ii)
(ii)-(i)
x+y=9
x-y=5
----------
2y=4
y=2
x-y=5
x=5+y
x=5+2
x=7
the original no. =72
