Thank you for the question!!!

Lysosome are organelles that remove the waste matter from the cells. They engulf dead matter and excrete from the cell body. So they are called as natural scavengers. If it had not been for them, cell body would have become conjusted with dead and decaying debris which will in turn affect the normal functioning of the cell.

Hope it is helpful for you and solves your query too!!!

Lysosomes :-

Lysosomes are organelle found in all cells. Lysosomes contain digestive enzymes. They serve as intra-cellular digestive system, so they are also known as digestive bags. Cells produce waste and lysosomes help in removing the waste out of the body. When a part of the cell becomes damaged or obsolete, it is moved to the outer edge of the lysosomes. They also destroy any foreign material which enters the cell such as bacteria or virus. Lysosomes also remove the dead cell in the tissue and poorly working cellular organelles by digesting them to make way for their new replacements. Since they remove cell debris, they are also known as natural scavengers of the cells or cellular housekeepers.
