Likewise, in cell as many organelles are working it generates wastes which have to be removed from the cell. Lysosome is the organelle which is involved in digestion and removal of waste generated by the cell.The lysosomes contain digestive enzymes with which they engulf and digest worn out cells, or worn out cell organelles, food particles, antigens etc. As the lysosome performs this function is also called as “Suicidal bag” of the cell.
