Given that,

m+1 = 0
m=-1

Substituting the value of m in equation,

X^2 + mx - 6 = 0
X^2 -x - 6 = 0
x^2 + 2x - 3x - 6 = 0
X ( x + 2 ) - 3 ( x + 2 ) = 0
( X + 2 ) ( x - 3 ) = 0
(X + 2) = 0
X = -2
X -3 = 0
X = 3
