Given : Length of rectangle = 14 cm

Breadth of rectangle = 12 cm

Perimeter of the square paper that is cut

out = 24 cm

Now area of rectangle = l × b = 14 × 12 = 168 cm²

Perimeter of square = 4 × side

therefore, 24/4 = side

so, side = 6 cm

Now area of the square = side × side = 6 × 6

= 36 cm²

Now area of the remaining piece of the paper = Area of the rectangle - Area of the square

= 168 - 36 = 132 cm²
