M and N are the mid-points of sides DC and AB
respectively, of a rectangle ABCD. If
ar (rectangle ABCD) = 48 cm2, then ar triangle(EMC) is?​

Answer:

Parallelogram ABCD  and △BEC have same base BC and they are between same parallels BC and AD.

∴Areaof△BEC=  \frac{1}{2}area of parallelogram ABCD

                       =  \frac{1}{2}×48cm^{2}

                       =24cm^{2}

 AN=NB,DM=MC

NB=  \frac{1}{2} AB,MC= \frac{1}{2} DC

But AB=DC  ( opposite side of parallelogram ABCD)

∴NB=MC , also  NB∥MC

∴NBCM  is a  parallelogram

∴area∥gmNBCM=  \frac{1}{2}(∥gmABCD)=area△BEC

∴△BEC is equal in area with BNMC
