GIVEN :-

  • side of an equilateral triangle is 6 cm

TO FIND :-

  • area of triangle

SOLUTION :-

As we know the formula for area of an equilateral triangle

\boxed{\rm{Area \: of \: an \: equilateral\: triangle = \rm{ \sqrt{\dfrac{3}{4}} {a}^{2} }}}

Where, a = side

Now given that,

Side = a = 6 cm.

Now, substitute the value of side (a) in the formula of the area of an equilateral triangle.

\implies \rm{\sqrt{ \dfrac{3}{4} } \times {(6 \: cm )}^{2}}

\implies \rm {\sqrt{ \dfrac{3}{ \cancel4} } \times 6 \times \cancel6 \: {cm}^{2}}

\implies \rm{\sqrt{ \dfrac{3}{ \cancel2} } \times \cancel6 \times 3 \: {cm}^{2}}

\implies \rm{\sqrt {\dfrac{3}{1} } \times 3 \times 3 \: {cm}^{2}}

  \implies \rm{\sqrt{3} \times 3 \times 3 \: {cm}^{2}}

\implies \rm{3 \times 3 \sqrt{3} \: {cm}^{2}}

\implies \rm{9 \sqrt{3} \: {cm}^{2}}

\boxed{\boxed{\rm{\therefore  \:area \:of \:an \:equilateral \: \triangle \: is\: 9√3 cm²}}}
