Given : PQRS is a rectangle. M is a point on side PQ. SR is produced to N and MSRT is a paralielogram.

PQ =8.5 cm PS =6 cm

To find : (i) The area of || gm MSRT (ii) area of △ MNT

In rectangle PQRS, PQ=8.5 cm and PS =6 cm.

 \text{\( \therefore \) Area of rectangle \( \rm PQRS = PQ \times PS =8.5 \times 6 \)}

=51 cm²

(i) Rectangle PQRS and llgm SMTR are the same base SR and between the same parallel. \

 \text{ \( \therefore \) area of rectangle SMTR}

= area of rectangle PQRS

=51 cm².
