Question :

Solve this equation : m - (m - 1)/2 = 1 - (m - 2)/3

____________________________

Solution :

→ m - (m - 1)/2 = 1 - (m - 2)/3

→ (2m - m + 1)/2 = (3 - m + 2)/3

→ (m + 1)/2 = (5 - m)/3

→ 3(m + 1) = 2(5 - m)

→ 3m + 3 = 10 - 2m

→ 3m + 2m = 10 - 3

→ 5m = 7

m = 7/5

\therefore\underline{\underline{\boldsymbol{Required\ value \ of \ m = \dfrac{7}{5} }}}

_____________________________

Verification :

→ 7/5 - (7/5 - 1)/2 = 1 - {(7/5 - 2)/3}

→ 7/5 - {(7 - 5)/5}/2 = 1 - {(7 - 10)/5}/3

→ 7/5 - 1/5 = 1 - (-1/5)

→ (7 - 1)/5 = 1 + 1/5

→ 6/5 = (5 + 1)/5

6/5 = 6/5 [Proved]

_____________________________

Therefore, LHS = RHS.

So, required value of m = 7/5

Answer:

m-m-1/2=1-m-2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

# m-(m-1/2)+(m+2/3)=1

# 6m-(3m-3)+2m+4/6=1

# 5m+7/6=1

# 5m+7=6x1

# 5m=6-7

# m=(-1/5)
