Given :  Madan has nine cards from number 2 to 10  of diamond in a shuffled manner.

To find : probability of drawing two cards in sequence from the hand such that each card selected contains a smaller number than the  previous one

Solution:

i believe Question would be   2 to 10  of diamond as there are Nine Card

1st card can be from 2 to 10  , probability of each  card =  1/9

when it comes 10 then probability of other Smaller card = 8/8

when it comes 9 probability of other Smaller card = 7/8

when it comes 3 probability of other Smaller card = 1/8

when it comes 2 probability of other Smaller card = 0/8

= (1/9) ( 8/8  + 7/8  +  ........................+ 1/8)

= (1/9)  (  8 * 9 ) / (2 * 8)

= 1/2

1/2 is the probability  that each card selected contains a smaller number than the  previous one
