manager. Work in the production department has been divided into several small
parts. Each small part of the work has been entrusted to a group of 5 workers. The
production target of each group has been determined at 1000 units per month.
Besides, it has also been decided that if the actual production of a group ranges
between 50, then this deviation will be looked after by the department manager.
However, if the deviation is beyond this limit, then it will be brought to the notice of
the General Manager.

1. There are different steps in controlling the process of an organization. The first step is setting up standards, the second one is measuring the actual performance, the third one is determining whether the actual matches with the standard and the fourth one is taking corrective action. So the step will be the third step where the actual performance is matched with the standard performance.
2. The particular concept that the attention has been focused on is the employee's individualism and initiative. As the General Manager also sees into the problem if the deviation goes beyond a particular point. Till this, the employees are able to use their own initiatives to do the work to the best of their capacities.
