India is one of the ancient civilisations in the world. It has moved forward displaying remarkable progress in the field of agriculture, industry, technology and overall economic development. India has also contributed significantly to the making of world history. Himadri range has a much higher average altitude than Himachal range.

Himadri range is the 'northernmost range of Himalayas' and also known as greater Himalayas.

  • The average altitude is around 6000 meters from sea level. This range is home to majestic mountains.

  • It includes peaks like K2, Mt. Everest, Nanga Parbat.  

  • Himachal range lies in the south of Himadri range and is also known as lesser Himalayas.

  • The altitude in this ranges from 3700-4500 meters above sea level. This range acts as shelter to many hill stations like Mussoorie, Shimla etc.

  • Himachal range is quite 'rugged' and made up of 'compressed rocks'.

Two limitations of a democratic government are:

1. They have to work for citizens and not for themselves.

2.They can't remove or appoint any person in the work. The voting must be done periodically..

The spread of electricity has helped farmers in Palampur in following ways: (i)Electric-run tubewells can Irrigate much larger areas of land. (ii)Electricity has transformed the system of Irrigation. (iii)Electricity has reduce the pollution because it is a cheap and pollution free source of Irrigation.

1.in democratic country election are held regularly and in free and fair manner

2.people have right to express their veiws freely

3.people elect their representatives

4.people have right to change their representatives if they are not satisfied with them

*NON DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY ELECTIONS -

1.in non democratic country people do not have the right to elect their representatives

2.in non - democratic country candidates use malpractises to win

3.in non democratic country people are at the mercy of the militry rulers means they can not express their veiws freely

4.in non democratic country people have no security of life .they can be killed by military rulers in thousanfds as happend in china

5.in non-democratic country there are no regular elections and people have no right to change their government
