Maganbhai completes a round around the
boundary of a square field of length 20 metre, in
80 seconds. What would be his displacement
from the origin position after 4 minute and
40 second ?

Thus the magnitude of displacement is  S = √ 800 m.

Explanation:

Side of the square = 20 m

Perimeter of the square = 20 × 10 = 200 m

He completes 1 round in 80 s.

So, speed = 200/80 = 2.5 m/s

So, distance covered in 4 min 40 s or 280 s is = 280 × 2.5 = 700 m

Number of rounds of the square completed in moving through 280 m is =

700 / 200 = 3.5

Magnitude of displacement = AC = (AB^2 + BC^2) = (20)^2 + (20)^2

Magnitude of displacement =  S = √  (20)^2 + (20)^2

Magnitude of displacement =  S = √ 800 m

Thus the magnitude of displacement is  S = √
