Magetic effect of current. Describe.
Answers
Magnetic effect of Electric current:
Also known as the electromagnetic effect of electric current, it refers to the magnetic properties shown by a wire carrying current. It has been observed that a compass needle when brought near a wire carrying current gets deflected from its normal north-south direction. This proves our theory.
This concept is used in a certain branch of physics namely Electromagnetism where temporary iron magnets are produced by passing a coil of current on them.
The other effects:
⇒ Heating effect of electric current:
When current passes through a wire, it gets heated up. This is termed as the heating effect of electric current.
⇒ Chemical effect of electric current:
When electric current is passed through a conducting solution, chemical reactions will take place. This is known as the chemical effect of electric current.
